Clam Pass Boardwalk…

I told my husband that I needed to be surrounded by nature today. So LET’S GO!  We took a drive south to Naples, Florida about a 30 minute trip from our home.  As soon as I got our of the car…I knew I was going to love this! You can choose to walk the length of the park’s 3,000-foot boardwalk or take a free tram. My husband and I of course, chose to walk and catch all the beautiful scenery with camera in hand. You will pass beautiful mangrove forests, (with three species of the mangrove trees) and plenty of birds and even some alligators. The boardwalk terminates at a serene white sand beach, where you’ll find bathrooms, beach rental spots, picnicking areas, and a snack bar on a massive white deck looking over the gulf that the Waldorf Astoria runs.

If you want to explore the wilder part of the park more beyond the boardwalk, you can rent a canoe or a kayak and get a more up close and personal view of the 35-acre park.

The park is free to enter, but there is a an $8.00 parking fee. To find the entrance is tricky because it is hidden back by the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

I can’t recommend enough to give this little hidden gem a try, the next time you are in the area.

Tomorrow, I will be sharing part two of this journey…stay tuned.

  4. Thanks for visiting my blog — you’ve got some beautiful photos on yours! My husband and I were planning on visiting Florida for our Spring Break in March, but we decided to go to PV instead. I’m kind of sorry that we did after reading your post!

  5. I love Naples Laurie, I would say it’s my favorite place in Florida. I spoke at a conference there once many years ago, an amazing memory as I am sure the memory you are making today is wonderfully amazing as well. Lucky you-:)
