Castello di Ammorosa…Calistoga, California Part 1
Castello di Ammorosa is so elegant and makes you feel like your in Europe in the Medieval times. The drive up to the castle is breathtaking in itself. You will see…it does not lack in charm and personality. Definately a photographers dream. The architect was so stunning, everywhere we turned. We were told they even filmed an episode of “The Bachelor” here.
My son-in-law going down the staircase to the dimly lit and very mysterious tasting room.
Here you see my family enjoying listening to Vicenzo our Sommelier. If you like cabs…please do the cioccolata con sale di marino…fancy term for chocolate sea salt paired with their reds. It greatly enhances the flavor of the wines. This was one of our favorite tasting rooms on our vacation in California. They had all kinds of breadsticks and various dips to try out…very addicting! Gifts of all kinds. Our daughters even bought us a couple of christmas gifts here…lucky us.
I would highly recommend this winery if you are ever in the area. The view just took my breath away…

Beautiful setting. With the Italian cypress, cellar wine tasting room, I could have been back in Italy. Love the architecture, and love the drawbridge.

Beautiful place. Takes me back to my many trips to California wine country and the short time Dave and I spent living in Southern California. Looking forward to seeing the rest of you stops along your trip.
Great post, Laurie – California’s wine country reminds me of Tuscany. With a camera in hand, it reminds me of heaven.
