Being Too Busy…
We hurt people by being too busy. Too busy to notice their needs.
Too busy to drop that note of comfort or encouragement or assurance of love.
Too busy to listen when someone needs to talk. Too busy to care! ~ Billy Graham
Have you ever felt like you were just too busy to see what is right front of you?
I am in this moment in my life…and it is NOT a great feeling.
Something has to go…but what? So hard…
Tip of the Day for Bloggers/Photographers:
Don’t take on anymore in your life…until you are absolutely ready for the next big thing!
If not…STOP! Say to yourself, “Will it matter in five years?” If so…proceed on, if not you have permission to say NO!
Thinking of my blogging family this weekend…hoping life is a little less complicated right now for you!

“We hurt people by being too busy. Too busy to notice their needs.” I sooooo agree with you!
What an inspiring sentiment! Taking time out of the day today to “stop and smell the roses!” and reach out to you, my dear friend! Hugs, Kathy
A great shot!
Something fun to the evening

People are using busy or too busy too often, then wonder why they are not connected with people…
Great tips! Thank you, Laurie!
Just wanted to say that I can really relate to this post. Hope all is well.
Laurie:
Hope you sort it all out. Great photos If you need and ear to bend I am available
I totally understand what you are saying. I have had to refocus many times and decide what my priority is. I find you continually have to do this.
Hello! I wish you a successful new week.
Big hugs. We all have such moments, ALL the time! Great post. Excellent advice. Go easy on yourself. : )))x
Incredible photo Laurie. I feel for you regarding the topic of busyness. Life certainly has its ebbs and flows and sometimes the flows feel like a raging river. Take care of yourself.
I love your thoughts and advice and tips with your posts! Fantastic bird pic!! Sometimes the day in day out work routine can get old for me! I have some creative ways to get through them though!! Hugz Lisa
Great shot and words… Thank you, love, nia
Good advice!
Great post!
I wrote a post about Depression and success which I’m publishing next week. Your advice ties in perfectly with it! 🙂
I’ve seen so many people crash and burn as a result of not Stopping and smelling the roses so to speak.
Have a great weekend. Hugs Paula xxx
Oops…I should say Red Shoulder!
Oh would I love to sit down with a cuppa and talk about this…especially after the email I got today! Quite thought provoking…and super shot of that red tail!
Much wisdom in your words, life is busy, don’t do what annoys you I always say! I have a dear friend who often gives me permission “not” to do things, and I do the same for her! You have my permission to do as you choose, you have earned it!!
Jenna
This is something I really need to listen to “Don’t take on anymore in your life…until you are absolutely ready for the next big thing!” I am very bad at this
Mollyxxx
Take care my friend – I hope things get better for you very soon. Thank you for all you do. 😀
Hi Laurie! Been very busy, too. Just caught up with you here. Love what you said in an earlier post about information overload–that’s why I don’t do twitter or facebook either. Just keeping it simple. Hope all is well. Have a nice weekend! 🙂
Wow! Awesome picture, Laurie. I am so glad that I returned an e-mail today, or I would have blushed deeply when I read these wise words of yours. The five year question is a great idea for thinning out our lives.
Warm wishes ~ Wendy
That beautiful hawk sure looks as if he is taking things very slow and it’s such a great shot Laurie! Great advice indeed and that is the way it should be but sometimes it’s hard to prioritize but like you said, no is also an answer and sometimes we don’t like to say no, but we have to. Sorry to hear that you are having a moment like that hon and hope all will clear up soon. Take care and thanks for sharing. 😀 *big hugs*
Absolutely incredible!!!
And meant to say how gorgeous this portrait is!!! 🙂
I think this is something that happens to all of us from time to time.
Just always trying to do too much. Something has to give.
I hope things settle down for you soon.
Laurie, there is SO MUCH truth in that quote. I find myself guilty of “too busy” all the time and I try to REMIND myself of what’s most important and to take a deep breath and slow down… there will be enough time to get what has to be done and to take that time for our loved ones. GREAT post and reminder. I’ll be wishing some breathing room for you, dear lady. blessings ~ tanna
Great shot and I totally agree with your advice. People are always more important. I think it is important to be refreshed ourselves so we can in turn, refresh others. Hard to do and live by!
Great shot, love how detailed he is. Great words, they come at a great time, when I have a lot of those same issues, and questions going on.
Great thoughts. The bird looks like he’s deep in thought, too, though I’m pretty sure he’s analyzing movement in the grass which might turn out to be his next meal.
What a beautiful image! I love the idea you expressed… if it doesn’t matter tomorrow or for eternity! then why do we spend even a moment on it? We’ve really got to live every day as if we’re dying, because, truth is, we are all! I sure hope you work everything out, Laurie… wishing you a great weekend
So true. It is really important to listen, to hear, and to be with the person who needs you. This is the main thing in the life and this is what everybody needs. The picture is awesome, as usual.
What an amazing image, wow. You have such wise words!
breathtaking does not do justice to this amazing photo. You know, Pippi? If I took even one photo 1/4 as good as ANY of yours, I would live on that laurel for the rest of my shutterbugging days. You skilled photographers really amaze me with your abilities to capture such capricious moments. I am sharing to fb just to pretty up the place!!
Charron…thank you for the kind words!!!..Needing that today! BIG BLESSINGS to you my friend.
“Will it matter in five years”? I’ve used that phrase to sort out my priorities for 30+ years. It is a simple little sentence but bears a lot of weight in helping you wade through life’s journey.
Great post Laurie, and although I am not one to ever be too busy that I don’t remember the things that matter, this subject is something that is always on my mind. My sweetie has such a demanding job and sometimes I feel that I am overlooked because of all the stress he has which carries over to the evenings and weekends. I just wish that he could find a happy medium and remember that I am here. Is being too busy an excuse for ignoring your loved ones? Or do you get so caught up in the work life that home life is the one that suffers? Thanks for posting this today.
Yes, work can really take over our life when we allow it too. Such a shame…but I think we are all guilty of this sometime in our lifes! Stay strong buckaroo♥
I hope you sort it out Laurie. Awesome photo. Billy Graham, a great man and warrior for God. He should be president…
