The Secret to Change…

nolans birthday gift

Little Mans Mommy sent me this picture a few days ago. I just had to share it with you.

Just one of his many adorable gifts he received for his birthday.

As you can see by the picture, he is enjoying this one immensely.

Papa and I bought him a huge set of Legos…and I am happy to report he is learning already how to build “High Towers!”

We are told it is one of his first toys he wants to play with, when he arrives home from preschool.

My they grow up so fast…it literally makes me dizzy to think how fast he is changing!

Now, for the title of this post…you probably thought it strange with the image of Little Man.

There is so much on my plate at this time in my life, that I am struggling to juggle it all.

I am putting in 10 hour days at work just to start, then all the rest that I have heaped into my life…sigh.

For this reason, I am taking a blogging break for a short time.

I will be popping in from time to time through the holidays and hoping to make a great return in a couple of months.

For any of you who are type “A”s and take on too much…I know you will understand.

I will leave you with a quote…

The Secret to Change…is to focus ALL of your energy, not on fighting the old, but building the new!

Have a great week my friends!

  1. Oh my yes, they do change, much too fast … but you know, we also find that we change right along with them! He is absolutely adorable, Laurie … I love his eyes! How could they not capture a heart and hold it forever! You are blessed, my friend!

As for your time away, you enjoy it along with all those you hold dear. You already know I’ve been absent, but without warning to any of my readers, as you’ve so considerately done here! Things on the home front have been challenging, to say the least, but we know that God has a plan in all things … so we wait patiently, and trust, and look to Him each day for our strength!

I have missed you, Laurie, and I am sorry I haven’t been by sooner. Thank you so much for taking that little extra time to think of me, and then to drop in to ‘like’ a couple of my older images yesterday … I had to hop over here and let you know how much it was appreciated! It’s just good to know I haven’t been forgotten! ๐Ÿ™‚ I do hope to be sharing again, very soon, with photos I’ve been saving up since my last post here. I have missed it terribly!! In the meantime, you enjoy your family and this next week of Thanksgiving, for we all do have so very much to be grateful for! Blessings to you, my friend! xo

  2. Oh, Laurie! That baby boy is just to precious. I know it breaks your heart not to be there to see him playing with those Legos. {{ Big hugs}} and best wishes with all that is going on in your life right now!! blessings ~ tanna

  3. Little Man as endearing as ever !
Do enjoy your blogging break Laurie and I’ll look forward to your return, it’s good to step back for awhile and focus on things nearer to home .
Have much appreciated your visits and comments x

  4. Hi! I wanted to tell you that you won my contest on sharing Beth Moore quotes. I’m not sure how to get your address. If you want to contact me, my email is kathrynwarmstrong at gmail.com. If you’ll send me your address, I’ll send you a copy of Whispers of Hope right away. It is really a worthwhile read, even though I know you’re killer busy right now. But…maybe after things settle down in January! Blessings, Kathi

  5. He’s so cute! I just love his eyes and those cheeks ;0) I totally understand needing a break. Some days I wonder how I can keep up with anything let alone a blog. Hope to see you around as much as possible.

  6. We’ll be here when you get back, Laurie! Have a lovely holiday season (for me that means Thanksgiving – the absolute BEST holiday – all the way through to the New Year).
That photo of Little Man made me smile ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Dear Laurie,

come over, I have to give you a big hug! X ๐Ÿ™‚

Your little man is gorgeous, my heart goes out to him and I can fully understand your feelings. You can only live this day, hour, minute and moment once. What makes it wortwhile? If you only had …. time, would you be blogging?

I fight with the same thoughts for a long time now. I have decided not to take a break or stop – yet !- but because blogging is getting increasingly timeconsuming with almost 3000 followers, Klausbernd and I are going to operate from one blog as from next year. Like a virtual marriage, the bookfairies say. ๐Ÿ™‚
And your words are so true, thank you for giving us the intro, Laurie! x

Have a good break, enjoy life and each other – take care, my dear. We’re happy to see you again here when you are ready.

    Love, Dina xx

    • Dina, you made me cry with your beautiful words! Yes, of course if time was not an issue I would love to be here!! I think that is a splendid idea cojoining on a blog…would be a great solution for me too. I will have to give this some thought. If I wasn’t still have to work full time this issue would be solvedโ˜บ Thank you for being a friend…Laurie

  8. 10+ hour days are rough! I hope you get some much needed time to catch up and even to relax a bit. The picture is awesome. We have a little LEGO lover in our house too…and he’s 6. They are a great toy for growing with the kiddos.

  9. Laurie, enjoy your well deserved rest. I am thinking of taking a break soon, too, or else cutting back for the holidays. My sewing room has a to do list waiting… It looks like your daughter can photograph awesomely too.

    Blessings ~ Wendy
