Sea Turtle Shell Art on the Beach…
We went to the beach again….I know sigh for the Northern’s. I really do feel bad for you. I lived up there for 40 years, I can relate. The cold can get a bit wearing on you at times. This is the main reason why we are down in Florida at this point in our life.
As we were walking along Casa Ybel Beach in Sanibel and looking for our spot to set up camp, we came along this beautiful piece of shell art! A family of sea turtles…I would of loved to met the little artist who created this. Unfortunately, before we could get there, the elements had started eroding away our little friends. Can you see it is a mama and her baby? Oh my…
Another reason for this post is to show you how the images turn out with the new pink camera toy, the Nikon Coolpix! Back at Christmas, I told you of my new photography toy and many of you asked me to show the quality of the images. The pictures were processed in Photoshop just like all my images are on this blog. This way you can compare apples to apples right? Please view here, if you haven’t seen this post.
A close up…
Action…the wind was blowing…
Last but surely now least…the beautiful HEART made of shells.
Please know that when you come to this blog, we appreciate that you have given us a few minutes of your day.
We also LOVE your comments and joining our Pride in Photos Community! It blesses us so.
In return, we are hoping it is blessing you too.
I believe one of the reasons blogs are so popular, it gives us a way to escape in our life. We may be escaping a situation or just wanting to bring something pleasurable or more beneficial into our lives. For me it gives me something to think about other than work. A “Virtual Vacation”…even when we can’t leave our homes, we can still take a break.
Can you relate?

Neat photos!
The walkway shot reminded me of Siesta Key’s Gulf & Bay Club where I used to work. We replaced a lot of the wood with Trex, spent a lot of nice hours on that beach. Nice post!
That Trex material is the bomb isn’t it?
Yes, I can definitely relate. It’s my piece of escapism too.
That turtle was so neat. I’ve never seen anything like that before!
And your pink camera does a great job…although I suspect it’s the talent of the operator making it shine!
Thanks for linking.
A+
The shell art is amazing!
Ordinary Words….the flu has left my building….finally getting around to commenting on your blog….love the shells♪
beautiful shots of the beach. sigh.
Beautiful shell art!
Lovely images, I can see the sea turtles. Very cute and creative!
Very clear pictures you have taken in the daytime and this turtle creation is great.
This has given me great ideas for next summer at the beach – wonderful!
Leigh
Thanks for joining in the blog hop!
Love ALL the photos! I especially love the heart =) So glad you linked up with the GtKY hop again!
The seashell heart is lovely – I can’t wait to leave just such a souvenir on the beach the next time I go – of course it will be on a cool and windy west coast day – nothing like your Florida warmth and sunshine!
these are so awesome Photos , Nice art 🙂
Oh your photos are gorgeous! And bring back memories…we visited Sanibel Island a few years back and absolutely loved it! We were there during a Red Tide so the beach was littered with the poor creatures that perished and we suffered with the cough, but the island is incredible. Thanks for sharing your photos!
Saw you sharing at Tilly’s Nest Down Home Blog Hop
Debbie 🙂
I am so jealous of all your time on the beach. I love the shore, and turtles! Great photos! {:-Deb

What neat shell art on the beach, Laurie! Actually the weather is pretty nice right now in Colorado even though there are remnants of the Christmas Eve snow still on the ground in some parts. Thanks for sharing your journey and joining Walk and Click Wednesdays!
great post!

What beautiful (and peaceful looking) shots! I love the shell art!
Your pictures are really beautiful!
I am glad we found each other…a mutual love of each others photos and subject matter☺
Have a great evening.
I love your beach shots!!! The one of the sea grass and the ocean looks similar to one I took… only better. LOL I love the creativity of the others. I would not have thought of that, but then we don’t have that many seashells usually… 😀
Thank you so much for your kind comments! Blogging and meeting new friends is so fun isn’t it?
Aye! How I miss Florida! The turtle is great and the camera takes a nice quality of picture!
I love the Thank You Shell. Well your whole post is gorgeous. I know I enjoy looking at the photos people take from other places in the world. Takes me to another place for a while.
Colline…yes, I too…its a great escape. What did they do before blogs? smile…
Well that is a creative sea turtle! I may have to steer my kiddos to make something like this on our next beach outing!
I do always feel like I am taking a virtual vacation every time I visit your blog after seeing your photographs! Today, we are having a heat wave in Cleveland, OH at 50 degrees. The sun it out, the snow is melting a little, and it looks so dreary & yucky as all the snow by the street edges is covered in dark yucky colors. (I hate when it looks like that) We all have our own seasons, and since we live here, and not in sunny Florida like some people we know, we have to deal with what we are dealt. Any sunny day here at this time of year is truly a blessing! Thanks for sharing Laurie what you get to see everyday! 🙂
What a very kind comment! Thank you! This is the whole reason I write and take photos, hoping others can have a few minutes to smile and maybe be a blessing! I totally understand the dreariness…we used to live up in the South Bend, IN area…it was always cloudy, rainy etc.sigh! There was times, I thought I would lose my mind…I have to have sun. I wrote a post on this back awhile ago. I have what they call S.A.D. disease…believe me its not pretty to be with me with that kind of weather. I feel blessed that you and others do enjoy coming for a visit. Makes it worthwhile.
Blessings.
Laurie
You can’t even imagine how blessed I feel every day for “finding you”, as you are a true blessing to me. (just wanted you to know that)
Sounds like your beach vacation has been a little warmer than ours in San Diego.
Can you believe I have never been to San Diego? I have heard such lovely things…
It is lovely but I do love the beaches on the east coast equally as well.
Beautiful photos! I agree with you when you say we are escaping and going on a virtual vacation, but I also consider you all my friends, and I love seeing what’s going on in others lives and feel like I’m part of it. Helps me be less lonely.
Your Nikon Coolpix takes nice shots. Do you find you use it more than your bigger camera? How do you use them differently?
I just keep the pink toy in my purse for emergencies that might come along. But the real dslr will go when I know I want pics. I don’t like the quality of the coolpix for indoor images.
I am envious! The sand is so fine and white. Visiting from SST. Have a good week. 🙂
Fascinating and beautiful!
Great group of photos. I could use a little of the warm weather right now!
That is some serious art right there. What a fabulous piece. Thanks for sharing.
hi Laurie…oh the beaches of Sanibel…sigh… I just took my mother to chicago airport this morning. She is right now flying the friendly skies headed to Sanibel!!
Nancy, she is going to have great weather. It is calling for low 80’s and NO rain!!!
Well I have to say that little camera takes some pretty good shots. I totally love looking and dreaming at your beach photos. Thanks so much for sharing them with us.
Hugs~
What beautiful pictures. I want to learn how to take better pictures. I’m planning on buying a new camera. Thanks for stopping by my blog back in December!
Oh to be in sunny & warm FL again! I love all the photos but especially the wind blowing the sea grass 🙂 Glorious!
That is so cool and so creative! Sea turtles are one of my favorite animals so I love anything to do with them!!
I love the way you mix photography with text, and the camera does a great job too.Amazing how much technology is in that little bugger! Nice beach… 29F here just now. Blah.
thanks John, it is one of my favorite things to do, to put some design on the photos every once in awhile. 29 degrees…burr!!
Yah bbrrr!! Blahhh grey today as usual. Too bad you didn’t catch the artist who did the shells…
What a sweet post, Laurie. Yes, the snow and cold does get old after awhile — but it will be spring before we know it! Lovely photos with your new toy. 🙂
Så herlige bilder;)
Love the patterns of your photos.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
You do such a GREAT JOB!! Beautiful pictures and beautiful words!!!!
Fascinating and beautiful!
