Sea Turtle Shell Art on the Beach…

We went to the beach again….I know sigh for the Northern’s. I really do feel bad for you. I lived up there for 40 years, I can relate. The cold can get a bit wearing on you at times. This is the main reason why we are down in Florida at this point in our life.

As we were walking along Casa Ybel Beach in Sanibel and looking for our spot to set up camp, we came along this beautiful piece of shell art! A family of sea turtles…I would of loved to met the little artist who created this. Unfortunately, before we could get there, the elements had started eroding away our little friends. Can you see it is a mama and her baby? Oh my…

Another reason for this post is to show you how the images turn out with the new pink camera toy, the Nikon Coolpix! Back at Christmas, I told you of my new photography toy and many of you asked me to show the quality of the images. The pictures were processed in Photoshop just like all my images are on this blog. This way you can compare apples to apples right? Please view here, if you haven’t seen this post.

Last but surely now least…the beautiful HEART made of shells.
Please know that when you come to this blog, we appreciate that you have given us a few minutes of your day.

We also LOVE your comments and joining our Pride in Photos Community! It blesses us so.

In return, we are hoping it is blessing you too.

I believe one of the reasons blogs are so popular, it gives us a way to escape in our life. We may be escaping a situation or just wanting to bring something pleasurable or more beneficial into our lives. For me it gives me something to think about other than work. A “Virtual Vacation”…even when we can’t leave our homes, we can still take a break.

Can you relate?

  1. After I originally commented I appear to have clicked on the -Notify
me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on whenever a
comment is added I recieve four emails with the same comment.
There has to be a means you can remove me from
    that service? Thanks!

  2. The walkway shot reminded me of Siesta Key’s Gulf & Bay Club where I used to work. We replaced a lot of the wood with Trex, spent a lot of nice hours on that beach. Nice post!

  3. That turtle was so neat. I’ve never seen anything like that before!

And your pink camera does a great job…although I suspect it’s the talent of the operator making it shine!

    Thanks for linking.

    A+

  4. This has given me great ideas for next summer at the beach – wonderful!

Thanks for joining in the blog hop!

  5. The seashell heart is lovely – I can’t wait to leave just such a souvenir on the beach the next time I go – of course it will be on a cool and windy west coast day – nothing like your Florida warmth and sunshine!

  6. Oh your photos are gorgeous! And bring back memories…we visited Sanibel Island a few years back and absolutely loved it! We were there during a Red Tide so the beach was littered with the poor creatures that perished and we suffered with the cough, but the island is incredible. Thanks for sharing your photos!

  8. What neat shell art on the beach, Laurie! Actually the weather is pretty nice right now in Colorado even though there are remnants of the Christmas Eve snow still on the ground in some parts. Thanks for sharing your journey and joining Walk and Click Wednesdays!

  9. I love your beach shots!!! The one of the sea grass and the ocean looks similar to one I took… only better. LOL I love the creativity of the others. I would not have thought of that, but then we don’t have that many seashells usually… 😀

  10. I love the Thank You Shell. Well your whole post is gorgeous. So… I actually like your blog – the parts I’ve seen, and we are still new friends, so I’m planning to spend lots more time exploring it this year. I totally agree with you about blogging. It is an escape!!! Please accept this award as my sincere compliment, and enjoy it for what it means to you. If you want to pass it to another versatile blogger, you can check out the rules that I received here http://wp.me/p2jC53-160. Thanks for being part of my blogging life. 🙂 Marsha Lee

  12. I do always feel like I am taking a virtual vacation every time I visit your blog after seeing your photographs! Today, we are having a heat wave in Cleveland, OH at 50 degrees. The sun it out, the snow is melting a little, and it looks so dreary & yucky as all the snow by the street edges is covered in dark yucky colors. (I hate when it looks like that) We all have our own seasons, and since we live here, and not in sunny Florida like some people we know, we have to deal with what we are dealt. Any sunny day here at this time of year is truly a blessing! Thanks for sharing Laurie what you get to see everyday! 🙂

    • What a very kind comment! Thank you! This is the whole reason I write and take photos, hoping others can have a few minutes to smile and maybe be a blessing! I totally understand the dreariness…we used to live up in the South Bend, IN area…it was always cloudy, rainy etc.sigh! There was times, I thought I would lose my mind…I have to have sun. I wrote a post on this back awhile ago. I have what they call S.A.D. disease…believe me its not pretty to be with me with that kind of weather. I feel blessed that you and others do enjoy coming for a visit. Makes it worthwhile.
      Blessings.
      Laurie

  13. Beautiful photos! I agree with you when you say we are escaping and going on a virtual vacation, but I also consider you all my friends, and I love seeing what’s going on in others lives and feel like I’m part of it. Helps me be less lonely.

  14. Well I have to say that little camera takes some pretty good shots. I totally love looking and dreaming at your beach photos. Thanks so much for sharing them with us.

    Hugs~

  15. I love the way you mix photography with text, and the camera does a great job too.Amazing how much technology is in that little bugger! Nice beach… 29F here just now. Blah.

  16. What a sweet post, Laurie. Yes, the snow and cold does get old after awhile — but it will be spring before we know it! Lovely photos with your new toy. 🙂

Please share your thoughts...and thank you for the love!
