Visiting The Garden Co…
Hello Friends!
It came to my recollection, that I didn’t share our time in Schulenburg, Tx.
We found this ADORABLE cafe on our way home from San Antonio.
It is called, The Garden Co. Marketplace & Cafe. What a gem!
Bu, it is so much more than just a cafe!
There is a beautiful Shop, Outdoor Biergarten, and a Silo all in the back!
Look at the indoors!! I mean does it get any more quaint than this?!
All I could think of, “Wouldn’t Joanna Gains from Fixer Upper, just LOVE this?!” Smile…
What creative imagination went into designing these lights.
The Garden Cafe is a gem! Don’t miss this, put it on your Texas bucket list.
I want to thank you all for the outpouring of love and support for these last few weeks.
It was rough, and I am glad, most of it is over.
As for my good friend, she is now with her maker for eternity. She will be missed!
Funerals are hard…Hard to say goodbye…Hard to let go…Hard to accept.
But, one thing I do know…this friend was VERY strong and would want us to move on.
What a precious privilege it is to be alive!
I leave you with this…
“You fall, you rise, you make mistakes, you live, you learn. You’re human, not perfect. You’ve been hurt, but you’re alive.
Think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive…to breathe, to think, to enjoy, and to chase the things you love.
Sometimes there is sadness in our journey, but there is also lots of beauty We must keep putting one foot in front of the
other even when we hurt, for we will never know what is waiting for us just around the bend!”
Thank you for being here…till next time.
Blessings,
Laurie
What a wonderful find – I love those hidden treasures – such a wonderful unexpected adventure!
Hi Laurie, I’m replying your travel questions here since my response is kinds long. Feel free to delete after you read it.
Mountains:
Banff Rockies had been on my list.So much to see there. You can book with the local tour guide to see places without driving yourself.
Grand Canyon is great… the Antelope is not far from GC.
Beach: Hawaii, San Diego, and Tampa Bay are beautiful!
Cities: Seattle, Portland, and Toronto (Canada) are my favorite cities.
My husband books hotel online. He does all the research and compares prices. Normally, he likes to pick 4 stars hotels.
Hope I have answered your questions. 🙂
yes, thank you so much. We were thinking about Portland and I loved that you confirmed you liked it too. We have seen the other two cities. Could you tell me your favorite sites, stores, eats etc? thanks so much
Sites: We took the local tour to see the waterfalls, and other places. I can’t remember the name of the tour service, but found on the Internet. They pick tourists at couple hotel site in DT. We also visited the Japanese Gardens (truly beautiful) and Chinese Garden in DT (small but beautiful.
Eats: The Portland City Grill (oversee the river) serves great food. The Mandarin Cove (if you like Chinese food) by the river is really good. Both were recommended by the couple from Minn that we took the day-long local tour with.
Also, we took the advantage of their wonderful city train.
I was just thinking to re-visit this beautiful city. 🙂
Happy travel, Laurie!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE INFO.

Hi Laurie! The Garden is a magical little place. I love it! I won’t miss it when I go to Texas. 😉
I’m glad you’re feeling a little better and able to move on. I know it is very difficult to lose a dear friend. Peace.
Vashti, always a delight to hear from you!
Thank you! 😀 xx
It is sad to lose a dear friend – I am sorry about your loss, Laurie. We are also losing a very good friend of ours. Cancer is a dreadful disease, taking him away from us. Your reminder of how happy we should be, being still alive, is good. Live as full as we can every day.
A lovely spot you have found here – I would love to have a cup.
Thank you for your kind words…I am sorry you are having to go thru this too…sigh.
That’s life…
