Visiting The Texas State Capitol Building…
Our whole family took a mini vacation to Austin, Texas together!
We found that we had some interesting moments with 2 babies, a toddler and 5 adults all in the same car!!
We looked like the Beverly Hillbillies, with all the luggage, high chairs, strollers, cribs, all piled on top of the SUV…with a bright blue tarp waving in the air!
The only thing I regret, is NOT taking a picture of our vehicle, right before we took off.
It was quiet the experience…memories that I will cherish always. Even the difficult moments.
This was our first time visiting the Texas State Capitol…it took our breath away. It was majestic to say the least.
None, of us were prepared for this to be so grand!
I felt like I was in Washington, D.C.
After the state capitol was built, they hoisted the Goddess of Liberty to the top of the dome, it made the Texas Capitol building more than 14 feet taller than the U.S. Capitol!
We just all laughed when we heard this, knowing how Texas likes to do everything bigger!
The inside of the dome…look real closely…It spells Texas around the star.
Close up of the Senate Chamber…
The House Chamber…
Look at these silly gooses…hiding from Grammie after our tour was done!
Little Man, continues to warm his Grandmothers heart.
We wish everyone a blessed Thanksgiving this week!
We ALL have so much to be grateful for in our life.

Oh laurie, how I wish you’d taken a photo of the SUV all packed up!
The statehouse is beautiful. So glad you had such a fun trip.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Happy Thanksgiving my friend! Hugz Lisa and Bear
Hi,
Austin looks like a neat place to visit. I used to travel to Dallas for business and enjoyed that city too.

Laurie, your grandchildren are so beautiful. What a gift for them that you’ve captured so much of their early years on camera.
Blessings on your Thanksgiving ~ Wendy
Happy Thanksgiving from NH to TX! It looks like you continue to get acclimated to your new home state. Wonderful photos that made me think of the old west and all those brave men and women from that part of the country. A photo of the packed car would have been priceless. 🙂
You make me wanna go there now!! I can imagine this being a good time of the year for a visit. It looks like you had an adventure to remember 🙂
Awesome photos! And sounds like a great family trip – cramming inside one car is strangely chaotic and fun at the same time 🙂 I think it’s even way better than a convoy really, haha!
Unique photos… as usual 🙂
I have always loved going to the state capital to take pictures. There is a lot to photograph. We went upstairs the last time and I shot down at the middle star on the floor. These are some good pictures.
Lovely photographs..To me the House Chamber seems the more inviting of the two. It’s always cool to see how big your little man is getting :-).
Wonderful photos, and connections your share with your family! Glad you are all so close! Great to see! Happy Thanksgiving!
Beautiful photos of this impressive building, Laurie. What fun to go there with the whole family. I can just imagine how your vehicle must have been crammed with stuff as well as people. Little Man is really cute, peeping out from behind the hedge. 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving to you all. xx
How grown up he is!
I was in Austin 3 week ago. I loved it!!!
I could not help smiling seeing the last picture. Precious!
I am glad you liked it too.
Yes, you should have taken a picture of the SUV! ha! So glad that you were not disappointed in the capitol. (The politicians are mostly disappointing these days!!!) Great photos! The area really is quite impressive once you get through the traffic. What a great family trip!
I hear Austin is a fabulous town. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, too!
I haven’t been to the capitol since I was 13; I need to go back for a tour.
Wonderful shots. The Senate and House chambers never looked so good — with no one there! 😉 Loved the peek-a-boo at the end.
Beautiful shots. Love the one of the dome.
Nice shots!
What a beautiful Capital building and the size is huge! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!
Lovely shots of a remarkable state capitol! Love the last one. Reminds me of peek-a-boo with my granddaughter!
Yes, the last shot made me smile all day.
What a beautiful building!! I love the rotunda, so much natural light.
Great photos of this magnificent capital building!
Wow, nothing done half-way on this building. Great photos Laurie! The car ride would have had me thumbing a ride. 😉
Thanks for sharing. Happy Thanksgiving
