Discovery Green Park…
While visiting “Little Man” a couple of months ago, the weather turned cold that week. Perfect weather for our grandson to wear his new hat Grammie and Papa bought him. Okay, I might have an obsession over him wearing adorable hats. His mother says to me every time I buy him a hat or make one, “Mom, we live in Texas.” “How many times do you think he will ever get to wear this?” “I reply, Oh don’t you worry…I will always find an opportunity!” So, when his parents suggested we visit Discovery Green Park, I ran up to his bedroom to find his new winter hat. Smile…
Look at the astonishment on his face when he enters the park for the first time. You can see his mother encouraging him along…
One of the first things his parents point out to “Little Man”…look a big hill to climb and run down. Oh boy!
The boardwalk around the perimeter of the park and lake. Just gorgeous!
Well, something sure has his interest captivated? What could it be?
Oh my, an outdoor ice skating rink. How fun! Mommy was explaining to him, what they were doing. He seem to be very intrigued. We bought some hot cocoa and enjoyed watching this beautiful experience.
Afterwards, we walked around the rest of the park and found this very unqiue Mardi Gras golf cart strolling around the grounds.
As we were leaving the park, we came across this furry black beauty! They even offered carriage rides around the park.
What a wonderful day we had!
Do you enjoy visiting the parks in your town?
Hope your week is lovely for you.

I do enjoy visiting the local parks with the kids, or even by myself, but none of them look as great as the one you’ve showcased here. π
What a wonderful day with Little Man! Those close ups of him are awesome. And his hat is to die for! Hope you’re having a very special birthday Laurie. You deserve it!

I chuckled over “Mom, we live in Texas”.
Love the hats and yes, I love the park in my city. An organization that I helped found, worked to build a bikeway/walkway that connects some of our small city’s parks.
You picked the perfect color hat for those eyes. That close up photo of him is stunning
The hat is adorable π
Adorable!
I do love to visit parks, wherever I am. Love that hat!
Thank you. Seeing pictures of lil man always puts a smile on my face and a little more joy in my heart. #blessed
I love seeing children in these great hats, too. My grandaughter has an owl hat, that I just love. Your little guy is just adorable, and of course, your photography is captivating.
What a sweet boy! You are the perfect Grammie making sure he has a hat to wear. He loos adorable in it and glad for the chill for you to enjoy him wearing it.
Adorable cheeks on the little man!
All of this looks like so much fun and I love the horse.
The “little man” looks so cute with that zebra hat π
Bless, he looks so cosy in that warm, stripy hat! x
Little Man looks so cute in his hat!!! Hugz a bunch! Lisa and Bear
What a wonderful place! We don’t have any parks in my area so we generally go to the beach or their are many woodland conservation areas that allow you to walk your dogs. Unless we go into Boston the choice of parks is limited.
Such a wonderful day with that your family and that handsome little man. And, I love the hat – it’s almost as cute as he is. π
What a fun time, Laurie, and I absolutely LOVE the hat!
He has the most gorgeous eyes.
LM is precious in his little zebra hat! Looks like he had a fabulous time at the Discovery Park… my boys love to explore new parks too, though it’s so so hard to get them to head home afterwards π
Thanks, Laurie π Off to a good start with a coastal walk this morning.
I could use a hat like that! But I really couldn’t look that cute.
What a wonderful little adventure! And I am absolutely in love with Little Man’s hat!!!! I have a strong affection for zebras to begin with and he just makes it look so adorable!
Love the light in that first shot. What a fun day out!
What an adorable boy in his fun hat! Looks like fun all around in the park. I love visiting the parks in Nashville – was just there yesterday, enjoying the weather and a hike. Cheers!
The hat you bought for him is just so beautiful and he looks totally adorable in it. Great shots of a fun day Laurie. π *hugs*
There are so many wonderful places to visit with ‘Little Man’ … who is growing up way too fast!
Laurie, between your photography skills, and that lil fella’s sheer beauty–I swear, I have never seen a more beautiful little boy. No wonder you are so proud, this is one baby pik that looks good in “stretch pants”…;)
It’s really funny for me to see an ice rink surrounded by Green grass and trees with leaves π We have an ice rink at our legislative grounds that’s very pretty over the winter. There are actually miles of walking trails in our River Valley we enjoy. It’s left o’natural with few attractions like your park has but we do enjoy the peacefulness in the middle of our busy city.
A zebra hat… how wonderful… love your photos Laurie, so clear and perfect…
An amazing capture of little man’s expression! Thank you for sharing your wonderful day with us, Laurie!
Have a great week π
How cute is that hat!! Love the shot of people figure skating!
You are very good at close up photography. Check that… Good overall! Your son will have many images to look back upon.
The close up of “Little Man’s” face is gorgeous! A stunning portrait!
That’s what grandparents do π and little man looks adorable in his new hat.
