Tips for Bloggers/Photographers:

Get Smart With Creating a Pinterest Account!

Pinterest drives more traffic to my blog than Facebook and Google.

It is definitely a site you want to have an account on and be using regularly.

Make sure your about at the top of the page promotes who you are and what you do very clearly.

Find a way to include your blog name….very important.

Lastly, integrate the Pin It Button on your blog.

I have linked my account here, so you can take a look.

I hope everyone had a nice long week.

Remember my beach chair calling? Well, it didn’t pan out so well…a lot of rain came our way. Sigh…

  1. What stunning captures!

Just looking at your pictures makes me Happy, Happy, Happy!

I didn’t know that Pinterest links to your blog.

I hope to find some extra time to play out there one of these days!

Thanks for an interesting and beautiful link to the letter “H”.

    A+

  2. you know, your tips at the bottom of each post are almost as great as your photos. Super useful!! I have adjusted my Pinterest blurb accordingly, and will look into linking my accounts. Thanks!!

  3. Gorgeous, magnificent! What else can I say?! The beautiful shape of the bird of paradise, the rich colour and the little surprise insect! Thanks for the tips too… I do keep forgetting about Pinterest. And thank you for being part of Mandarin Orange Monday:)

  4. The bridge photo caught my attention — I love it! Thank you for the info on Pinterest. I need to learn to do more than collect photos of possibilities for my mother-of-the-bride dress 🙂 Thanks for your inspiration!

  5. These photos are beautiful, Laurie. In terms of pinterest, I thought it was about crafts and recipes and have never even thought about checking it out. Hmmm…

  6. Lovin’ that bridge shot…terrific. And thanks for that tip on adding blog name to my Pinterest Board…!!

  7. Beautiful photos Laura, love all the summer flora and fauna! So many of us have been in a rut about the weather lately with pervasive rain (and heat!)… hoping it clears for the rest of the season 🙂

  8. I admit I’ve had trouble thinking how pinterest could be relevant to my photography; just doesn’t seem to be me. And to be honest the last thing I need is another way to spend time online. But I will reconsider and think about it.

  9. Hi Laurie, Your photos are gorgeous as always, you have such a knack for composing photos that seem to tell a story~they always take me away~I agree with your Pinterest remarks, I wish you’d tell me how to do the pin, I can’t for the life of me figure it out!

  10. Aww no, I just put a comment in your other post about enjoying your beach chair over the weekend, too bad that didn’t work out. I have been thinking about being on Pinterest. I have looked at your site a few times just for some thoughts on how to get started.

  11. What a bunch of wonderful photos – I love them all but especially I love the bridge and the little orange fly 🙂 Have a great evening or day depending of where you are 😉

  12. Sorry, Laurie, been gone to welcome our new grandson, and busy, busy…but stopped by this morning, and found your pictures to be so relaxing and beautiful. A good way to start my busy morning. Stripping beds, washing sheets, baking a birthday cake for the boy next door turning “10”. Hope you have a great day!! Sending hugs and blessings, Wanda.

  13. I had heard of Pinterest but had never thought about it as more than a design or craft site. My curiosity has been peaked.
Thank you for the information about it.
The Bird of Paradise is a wonderful capture. The bee is the star. These are all wonderful photos.

  14. Lovely images, Laurie! Love the Bird of Paradise. Reminds me of the tropics for sure. Sorry your beach chair didn’t work out. I suspect it was that same dratted system we’ve been having. Hope you are clearing up!

  15. Oh, I wouldn’t dare go to Pinterest now otherwise I won’t be able to leave it for the rest of the day Laurie! 😆 That is one place that’s absolutely infectious and addictive. I try to avoid it as much as possible, but thanks for the link. Been there, followed and closed before I could not resist the temptation. Have to much to do today. I think what I must do is to set aside a day just for Pinterest and ignore the rest. 😀
Great shots as usual hon and thanks for sharing. Love your photo’s! 😀 *hugs*

  16. Great post Laurie! Yes, Pinterest draws a lot of traffic to my blog too and it is a good point to definitely start a Pinterest account today, and it’s free. Don’t think of Pinterest as just something that you can only post YOUR crafts, YOUR photographs, etc, rather it is a place where you find INSPIRATION, DESIGNS, and definitely a never ending supply of ideas. You create your own BOARDS and pin the things you find onto your boards, and be prepared to get sucked into the never ending pins on Pinterest, as it is addicting! (but in a good way) And…don’t forget, that when you create a Pinterest account, to remember to add your hyperlink to your Pinterest account on your blog cards, and on your email signature. Get the word out that YOU are on Pinterest and gain that traffic on your blog! Here is my Pinterest Link: http://pinterest.com/nikitaland/ Have a great day pinning! 🙂

  17. I couldn’t agree with you more. Pinterest was also referring viewers to my blog which surprised me. I thought it wouldn’t because I was new and had only a few boards. But it is definitely cool to have, (somewhat) easy to use and fun to “play” with! Have a great week!

Please share your thoughts...and thank you for the love!
