A Few Things On My Radar…
Just a few things on my radar this past week/weekend:
- Drove pass these furry friends while driving home from Fathers Day weekend. I am a Midwest girl…missing the country just a little right now.
- I’ve been hooked on watching episodes of the BBC Series “Top Gear.” These 3 British guys have us in stitches…seriously you must give it a try!
- Just finished reading “The Paris Wife” by Paula McLain…oh, so good! This story brilliantly captures the voice and heart of Hadley Hemingway as she struggles with her role as Ernest Hemingway’s first wife.
- On my second dose of antibiotics…I keep getting reinfected from others going out in public sick with bronchitis…big sigh!
- We have watched a lot of movies with being me being ill, here are a couple…
- Promised Land with Matt Damon…loved. The film, directed by Gus Van Sant, stars Damon as a gas company salesman who travels the dying towns of the American heartland, buying up drilling rights from struggling farmers.
- The Impossible…A True Story. Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor star in this incredible sad tale of María Belón and her family’s experience of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
I hope you can find some fun and relaxation this weekend.

Hope you feel better now. Almost missed this one…
Get well soon. 🙂
Lovely country scenery. Hope you feel better soon! 🙂
I just love your photos. They have me smiling.. I do hope you are feeling better. I am down a bit myself. I have had a tooth ache all weekend. YUCK!
Hugs~
Wishing you health and strength! That first cow made me smile…they don’t make them like that here! There’s a bit of goat in her, me thinks! Also your mention of the guys from Top Gear. One of the funniest things I have seen is when the big chap (can’t remember his name) designed a car that you didn’t have to get out of. He went shopping in it, when to the opera in it and into the British Library! If you haven’t already seen it, check it out immediately. A perfect tonic!
Three Thoughts:
I have The Paris Wife on my nightstand … just waiting for me to open it and get started.
What kind of cow is that first one?
I love the colors in the second one!
Oh! Four thoughts – feel well soon!!
Lovely shots!
Wonderful shots of the cattle!
Drats, you are not supposed to be sick in the summertime. Hope that 2nd dose knocks it. Love those cattle shots, especially that white one with his big ole floppy ears and sad face. Have not seen either of those movies, but I will put them on my “to see” list. And I will also check out that TV show. I love me a funny show.
I hope you’ll get better soon!
Hope you feel better soon. Great photo’s of the cows. Love their expressions. 🙂
Sorry to hear that you’ve been sick but glad you’ve had some time for movies and books! I absolutely have to read the Paris Wife!
I hope you feel better super soon!
Feel better soon, Laurie, but reading and watching movies doesn’t sound too bad! Love the cows…
Hope you are soon off those antibiotics and feeling better.
Nice shots again, well I wathced all of Top gear. It certainly is funny. My favourite of the 3 is Richard Hammond, he is a sweetie! Enjoy it and get well soon!
Lovely photos – I’m a countryside born guy, so I know what you feel about it… 😉
About your sickness, really hope you feel better soon… 🙂
I absolutely love Top Gear. Been watching it for years and don’t think I’ll stop any time soon. They’re like a bunch of naughty little kids. Actually, they are busy filming here in South Africa at the moment. Wish I could be there but they’re in a different city.
Sorry to hear you are unwell. Sending you positive get well thoughts.
((GETBETTERSOONHUG)) Laurie
Sometimes when the worst is over, time taken to catch up with books and films is so enjoyable without feeling too guilty one should be busy doing other *important* things .
Hope you are getting lots of fuss 😉
Those furry friends are gorgeous indeed Laurie and you’ve captured them so well! Yes, I love the countryside as well. Quiet and fresh air is the best. 😀
Seems you are having a great time so far. Thanks for sharing and enjoy the rest of the weekend hon. 😀 *big hugs*
PS: Sorry to hear that you keep getting sick. I hope you take lots of Vit C and tell those people they should stay home too. Get well soon hon. 😀 *hugs*
Thanks for the movie suggestion. In the throws of dental final work and have watched lots of movies, too.
I am always up for sugggestions. If I wasn’t on meds, I’d read but my concentration is low. I’ve added your
book to my summer reading list.
Your photos are GREAT. The white one has huge ears. As a former jeweler, I want to put earrings on them.
Hope you are on the mend and feeling better and better everyday.
Have a fabulous weekend.
Isadora
Sorry Laurie to hear you are sick! How about some Star Trek?
Hope you feel better!
Please take care. I also like “Top gear” too.
Get completely well soon!
Crazy ears on that cow. What kind is it?
I hope you feel better! I’m really loving that first cow…her ears are just too fabulous!
xo
Sweet shots, Laurie.
Wishing you a fantastic weekend!
Oh, I really, really enjoyed The Paris Wife.” Hadley and Hemingway jumped straight from the book and into my heart. Hope that you’re on the mend.
Take it easy this weekend. Hope you feel better soon
I hear you with the antibiotics but not due to illness, I recently got a tick bite that looked suspicious and don’t want to take chances. I hate bugs.
Did I mention I hate bugs?!
Hope you are feeling 100% quickly! 🙂
Fabulous photos (as always)!
Hope you feel better soon. I’m on day 8 of my antibiotics for a sinus infection & still not back to “normal.” Too many yuckies floatin’ around out there.
Take it easy.
Love the photos, reminds me of my childhood.
Paris Wife is on my reading list. Hope you get better and stay better 🙂
Great shots but you need a few days of rest…..
Nice clear shots you got. Laurie, the guys in my house love “Top Gear.” I enjoy hearing all the laughter and listen in on it too… Get well wishes to you dear one.
Blessings ~ Wendy
Oh man, sorry to hear you’ve gotten a virus. Feel better! We saw ‘The Impossible’ at the cinema when it first showed. Very touching. I’m am a huge fan of Ewan McGregor’s movies and his documentary’s ‘A Long Way Down’. He’s just the nicest family man. The young actors in this movie blew my mind, amazing talents.
Hope you feel better soon! Those cows look so skinny 😦
