We Are Almost There Grammie!
Little Man and my daughter were a little late picking Grammie up at the airport.
It was their first time navigating the huge George Bush Intercontinental Houston International Airport and also encountered a traffic accident on the way.
Grandson decided to call his grandmother and tell them they were stuck in traffic…LOL!
Letter To My Grandson
By: Susan L. Schmidt
By the time you read this you will be a big boy.
I know you will be kind, funny, wise, sensitive, interesting, and a ball of fire!
Your parents are all of these things.
I know you will be strong and a wonderful hugger. Your father was and still is.
I wish you happy, happy, days! You will have some bad days, yes.
They are important so you can appreciate the good ones.
There will be disappointments; I know you will be able to handle them.
Granny always says, “Life is 10% of what happens and 90% how you handle it.”
I pray you learn about humility.
Please always let an outsider feel inside, and always, always, be kind.
I hope you learn that honesty is the best policy, and that doing hard days
work will always make you feel better.
Be a loyal friend, one people can count on and trust.
I hope you put all of these wonderful things you possess to make yourself and the world around you a better place to live in.
Please learn about the “God Stuff”, it really works, trust me.
You have such a wonderful mother. She will be the one to teach you all the good things in life. Remember how to play, for you are in for a loving time.
I hope we will be close always.
Have YOU ever written or dedicated a letter to a loved one only to be read in the future?
Have a FABULOUS weekend friend.

Your grandson is adorable. I love the letter, I am going to save it for my own grandson, thank you for sharing it.
How very precious! Happy Monday!
What a precious little man…. and the post, he will value when he is old enough to understand. Beautiful idea…. 😀
Priceless photos.
“Life is 10% of what happens and 90% how you handle it.” – great words of wisdom!
Laurie, your grandson has the sweetest smile in Blogland! I’ll bet it’s partly because he can tell that his photographer loves him bunches… I have been writing in three separate journals for our three children. I started each one when I was pregnant with each. Every once in awhile I write in each one knowing that they will read them after I am gone. Sometimes I add a little drawing they did when they were small. Because I did not give bear children until my late thirties I thought it would be especially nice to leave these journals behind. 🙂
Blessings ~ Wendy
Wendy, That is SO beautiful what you are doing for your children. To started when they were born, will make it even more special to them. I think it is so important to leave a legacy in some small way. thanks for stopping by. Blessings always.
Simply precious photos, as is your tender, loving letter to your grandson.
Thanks for visiting and commenting on my WTS photo, and for following my blog.

What a cutie-patootie! Having lived in Houston for years, I can’t blame them for trouble with IAH. Glad they eventually got you!
Happy Sunday!

Great letter, and I do love your photocollage!
That is a lovely letter! And what gorgeous big eyes he has.
Boy is he adorable.
Really a cutie pa-tootie Laurie. That’s really a thoughtful gift fromt the heart, I bet he’ll treasure it when he’s grown. While I haven’t written a letter, I made a treasure box for my sister-inlaws niece when she was born with an original poem about saving the little things. I might post about it if someone would hurry up and make babies…LOL
Hilarious…if someone would make babies☺ You have a great sense of humor!
HA, Thanks 😀 I was only 1/2 kidding. Couples are waiting a long time to start a family, I’m going to be a little ol’ lady by the time the next baby shower rolls around.
He’s just so cute… no I’ve never written to be read in the future… lovely idea. That shot of him and the cell phone is priceless! Thank you for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #69!
Love your letter. I believe in letters for the future too. Your little grandson is absolutely beautiful. I love your photography.., eloquence!!

Bright Eyes, Bright Smile = Bright Soul
I see it already 🙂
What a nice note for your grandson.
I never gave writing something for the future any thought. I just may have to try that…
Beautiful boy and beautiful words … a perfect combination!!
You’re an inspiration to Grandmoms – and it’s easy to see where your inspiration comes from.

Very, very nice pictures !
So precious! Fabulous photography. 🙂
Love the letter to your Grandson. His eyes are so beautiful!
I think this little cutie should be on TV. A rival for the E-Baby commercials. Your grandson is adorable.
I made a photo book with pictures of my life and words of wisdom I have learned or have been told to me over the years to be passed down to my grandchildren. I wrote it three years ago and they are unaware of it. My grandchildren are nineteen and sixteen. I hope to give it to them on their twenty-first birthdays or leave it as a legacy to them. I am still writing and taking pictures for it.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
He is adorable.
What a touching post! Nolan’s gorgeous baby-blue eyes continue to pull me in!
