Mr. One-derful…

Can you believe “Little Man” turned one this month? Where has the time gone? Of course, Grammie had to do it up right. How many times does the Grandma and Grandpa get to throw the FIRST birthday party? I think not too many times. We had so much fun picking out all the decor and sending out the adorable invitations. We were tickled blue to have this opportunity! When we found the Mr. ONE-derful theme, I giggled with glee! “This is it!” I shouted. The theme fits our buddy to a tee! Now…Little Man had other opinions on the outfit we had bought for him. He was NOT impressed with the cuteness factor. You can see the lack of enthusiasm on his part♥

We even added his newborn photo for the guests to remember how much he has grown.

We used a pinata for the wall centerpiece. I loved the drama it added to the room.

How adorable is this cake? I took one of the napkins to the bakery and had them match the theme. They did a great job.

Oh…the smash cake was the best part of the party. Look at this face? He was so dainty at first. He picked each icing balloon off and ate one at a time. After all the balloons were eaten…he went for the gusto.

With a little prompting we were able to get a picture with his “First Birthday Hat!”

We are very proud of our daughter and son-in-law…they waited a long time for  Mr. ONE-derful.

He sure is worth the wait, wouldn’t you say?

We felt very blessed to have so many friends and family who shared in this special day.

Do you have a special birthday in your family that brings back fond memories?
I love hearing about happy days…please share.

It’s good to be back. I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving?!

We love♥ our friends here at Pride in Photos! The growth of this blog inspires us to share more of our life. Will you join us?

  6. Thanks for your comment on my table! To answer your question, my daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren live in Houston — we’re about three hours north of them. I hope your daughter and son-in-law will enjoy life in Houston!

  7. How adorable! He looks like he had a good time — eating those balloons must have perked him up! I do love the sunglasses though!
When my kids were young, I made their birthday cakes — it was a surprise, they couldn’t see it until the great unveiling! It was fun — there was a caterpillar, and a racetrack (2 years on that one!) and a doll, a teddy bear, an Oreo ice cream cookie, decorate your own sundaes…. I can’t remember all of them, but they were fun!

  8. Can you believe Nolan is a year old?
Looks like you all had a great time at his party.

    See you Fri.
    Love, Annie
